Trained as a health care professional, Marilyn’s career has included work in the clinical, academic, and pharmaceutical industry settings. Across all these roles, she has always had a passion for people development, teaching, and creating inclusive cultures. Most recently, Marilyn served as Chair of a research ethics committee, serving to protect the rights and safety of people participating in clinical studies.
Marilyn was certified as a Consulting Pair® (a Pope proprietary change agent process) when she was a manager with the Procter & Gamble Company. She subsequently applied this training within the organization to jumpstart effective new reporting relationships, build more effective teams, and facilitate resolution of issues when they arose between team members.
Marilyn was born and raised in Canada. She received her Doctorate from University of Minnesota and her BS in Pharmacy from the University of Maryland. She completed a post-doc fellowship at Rutgers University and did additional graduate work at the University of Michigan School of Public Health. She considers her proudest accomplishment to be the successful launch of two wonderful millennials.
